Good news for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare players who are still engaging in multiplayer gaming sessions during Christmas, as developer Sledgehammer announced a new mode and double XP weekend that are now live.

The new game mode is called “One Shot” and provides elitists with the opportunity to prove their prowess at one-shooting the opposite team’s members. In order for this to work, when playing in “One Shot” game mode, players will have decreased health and use specific classes just for this mode.

Each of the new five classes that have been introduced along with the new game mode have been specifically designed by Sledgehammer and OpTic NaDeSHoT. Every class available in the “One Shot” game mode comes with the MORS.

The MORS is a bolt-action railgun sniper, which provides that punch needed for one-shot kills. In addition, each of the five classes comes with lots of perks, Scorestreaks and Exo abilities.

When playing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in the new “One Shot” game mode, players will be able to choose one of the new five sniper classes: Hard Scope, Zoomed, 4X, Ace and Irons.

Before engaging in “One Shot” sniping warfare, keep in mind that this game mode does not allow players to carry a secondary weapon.

This means that each player should make their shots count. In “One Shot,” you will be partying up with up to five other snipers to take on another team of snipers.

The new One Shot mode is available on all gaming platforms

In the same piece of news, this weekend Sledgehammer announced that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare fans playing the “One Shot” game mode during the next few days will receive double XP. The Double XP weekend will run through Monday, December 29, 2014, at 9AM.

The new game mode, along with the five sniper classes have been added to all versions of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which means players will be able to enjoy it on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

On a side note, many people haven’t been able to play Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in the last 24-48 hours because both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live services were down following DDoS attacks made by a group known as Lizard Squad.

Even though the said group confirmed it stopped attacking these online services, PSN is still down in many countries, possibly due to the fact that many PlayStation owners are now trying to access it at the same time.

The good news is PC gamers should not have any issue in playing Sledgehammer’s latest “One Shot” sniping game mode.
