14 DAY TRIAL // Video game developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision announce that they are planning to launch a special double experience weekend for their first-person shooter Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on Friday, January 23, and they invite all those interested in taking part to vote on the map which will be featured during the period.
The announcement was made on Twitter, but all those who want to make their opinion known need to navigate to the official Facebook page of the company and then Like the battle arena they are interested in.
Of course, this means that an account is required, which might prove an obstacle for some of the fans, who have commented that the map choice process should have been made on the official site and forums.
The development team says that the most popular Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare map will be selected on Friday, January 16, and that they are open to the fact that two might be chosen at the same time.
The Double XP event for the shooter will take place between 9 AM Pacific Standard Time on January 23 and the same hour on January 26, presumably offered on all the platforms on which the title is available.
It’s also highly likely that during the period the game will be free-to-play on the Steam digital distribution service on the PC.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is getting ready to welcome Havoc
The double experience period will likely be used to promote the launch of the Havoc downloadable content pack, which will be introduced on January 27, initially on the Xbox-branded devices and then for those who are playing on the PC or the PlayStation.
The DLC will introduce four new maps for gamers to use in multiplayer modes, each of them designed to add variety to the experience.
Gamers will also be able to take part in the Exo Zombies mode, which allows four characters to work together and carefully deploy their abilities in order to take out as many waves of undead enemies as possible.
Three other content packs are set to be launched for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare during 2015.
