14 DAY TRIAL // Calculate Linux, an optimized distribution designed for rapid deployment in corporate environment that's based on the Gentoo project and includes numerous pre-configured functions, is now at version 13.11.
Users can choose between Calculate Linux Desktop featuring either KDE (CLD), GNOME (CLDG) or Xfce (CLDX), Calculate Directory Server (CDS) for server solutions, Calculate Media Center (CMC) should you need any, and scratch versions for those preferring minimal installations: Calculate Linux Scratch (CLS) and Calculate Scratch Server (CSS).
Calculate Linux editions are usually full of changes, fixes, and new features and the current release makes no exception from this rule.
Highlights of Calculate Linux 3.11: • The graphical interfaces no longer hang when the network in the domain is down; • When LDAP remains unresponsive for some time, the connection no longer recovers with user privileges; • Applications are now running faster thanks to LDAP caching; • Network resources are now restored automatically when the user quits the hibernate or the suspend mode; • KDE 4.11.3, Amarok 2.8.0, digiKam 3.2, Chromium 31.0.1650.57, Kernel 3.10.19, and LibreOffice 4.1.2.3 new versions have been implemented on the desktop; • The Xfce edition now features Xfce 4.10, GIMP 2.8.8, Chromium 31.0.1650.57, Kernel 3.10.19, and LibreOffice 4.1.2.3; • A bug that prompted for the password twice to unlock the session has been fixed; • An UEFI install bug has been corrected; • The option “--swap-size” has been added, allowing users to specify the size of the swap partition when autopartitioning is enabled; • The domain autologin has been fixed for the LiveCD.
