Mobile Device Management, Corporate Email, On-Device Encryption and VPN

Samsung has just announced the new “Samsung Approved for Enterprise” (SAFE) focused on offering Galaxy smartphone and tablets owners a complete enterprise solution.

Unveiled as CTIA Enterprise & Applications 2011, in San Diego, the SAFE program includes four components meant to provide customers essential enterprise functionality, as well as security.

According to Samsung, all enterprise solutions that receive SAFE-certification will meet a certain security criteria and will be offered only for enterprise use.

Instead of launching additional enterprise products, Samsung decided to launch the SAFE program, which offers Galaxy smartphone and tablet corporate users the same level of security and functionality while away from work.

Today's announcement of our new SAFE certification program reinforces that Samsung Mobile is truly the ideal partner for corporate mobile solutions. In addition to premium technology feature-sets, SAFE-certified solutions from Samsung will now deliver a higher industry standard for devices designed for enterprise use,” said Dale Sohn, President of Samsung Mobile.

Among the components of the SAFE program, Samsung mentions: “Mobile Device Management” via partnerships with SOTI, Sybase, MobileIron and others, On-Device Encryption, which helps Samsung smartphones and Galaxy Tab devices prevent unauthorized access to mobile data.

In addition, Virtual Private Network enterprise solutions offered by several global VPN providers, including Cisco and Juniper allows fast and secure global corporate connectivity.

Another component of the SAFE program, Corporate Email/Calendar/Contacts is meant to offer extensive support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
