CNN have launched their new and updated version for mobile phones, a version that is available for everyone, unlike the previous one that.

Aside from the news stories, CNN also has a wide variety of services that include five day weather forecast for over 1000 cities worldwide which can prove to be quite handy while traveling. The user will also get Sports, Technology, Business and Entertainment news.

Video bursts that cover news stories can be downloaded and viewed on newer models of mobile phones. Each one is about 600kb in size.

The site was optimized for all types of mobiles phone models, both old and new, with thumbnail images of the most interesting stories that will expand to full screen when clicked, enabling the user to view the full story.

At the same time, CNN has not left out people who can't or do not want to view the images either. They'll have the possibility of viewing a text-only version that loads faster and is a lot easier to view on older handsets.

The new service will be available in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America, basically covering most parts of the world and forming a massive marketplace that CNN can market their product to. The main advantage is that the service is not dominated by US news and the rest of the world will get to find out what's happening in their area.

The service covers quite a few countries and gives the user a more balanced view of what's going on in the world of business, news, sports, science and entertainment. It is currently available on several mobile operators including Vodafone, Orange UK and 3 UK.
