They use filament technology with top-mounted spools

We've seen a number of relatively good-looking 3D printers, but they form just a small part of the sheer multitude that has come into being over the past few years. That means that when one elegant series comes out, it bears mentioning.

The new series of 3D printers is called Nea Pro and is composed of three models, the NEA PRO Mini, PRO, and PRO+.

We'd be tempted to call them suitable for an office or home desk, but for the fact that they have an open-air design. Which is to say, they will cause as much fume and smell as any other FFF 3D printer.

A bit of a shame really, since the good looks would deserve an appreciative glance from every guest, and there's not much chance of that if you leave it in the garage or a closed workshop.

Still, the NEA Pro products are about as good looking as 3D printers can get, which was the whole point of the mom, dad and baby bear family.

The NEA 3D printers

The NEA PRO Mini has a build volume of 6 x 6 x 6 inches / 152 x 152 x 152 mm and seems to be colored red, but that shouldn't be the only color option.

The NEA PRO is taller and wider, with a 10 x 10 x 10 inches / 254 x 254 x 254 mm build volume and a silver color (though, again, other colors should be possible).

The third and last product in the line, the black NEA PRO+, has a build volume of 14 x 14 x 20 inches / 355 x 355 x 508 mm.

All of them can print layers with a thickness of 50 microns and can perform self-leveling. They even have Wi-Fi support (so you can order prints done from a phone, not just the PC). Furthermore, the trio have heated print beds as well (no need to lay adhesive paste to keep the prints in place). Another advantage is the vibration-dampening system.

Not only that, but the printers are modular, allowing you to remove and replace parts like the print head, the filament spool, etc.

Speaking of which, the filament spool is installed on the top and falls to you to buy and use. All of the normal types should be supported, along with most, if not all, unusual ones.

Availability and pricing

The NEA PRO Mini, PRO, and PRO+ cost $995 / €839, $1,295 / €1,092 and $1,995 / €1,683, respectively and will start selling shortly, if they haven't already. The video below is a short introduction of them and their main strong points.
