The memory reaches 3.1 GHz and has aluminum cooling

DDR4 may be what it is, but for now it's still DDR3 that people are looking for when in the market for new memory, which is why ADATA made sure to bring some to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Wouldn't do to have the 2015 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show go by without something on that front, after all.

So, without further ado, behold! The ADATA XPG V3 DDR3 memory module, which uses DRAM chips capable of DDR3-3100 MHz.

There is a 1.6 GHz failsafe JEDEC profile they can revert to, but unless something happens that prevents the memory from cooling properly, it won't engage.

Speaking of which, the memory modules (there are 4 GB and 8 GB capacities) each bear a heatspreader made of aluminum and colored in two tones.

There are three layers of fins projecting upwards, each with a specific purpose. The two outer fin layers dissipate the heat, the inner ones (red, blue, green, gold or orange) dissipate the heat from the copper layer in the module's PCB.

The inner fins can even be detached and switched for another color, apparently.

Unfortunately, ADATA did not see fit to share the prices of the 4 GB and 8 GB XPG V3 modules. The retail channel should disclose this information eventually, but so far no dice.
