There are six new product lines in total in this sector

Samsung's M.2 SSDs with over 2 GB/s speed may have captured the attention of consumers at CES 2015, but there were some other series of storage drives that got released at the time.

More specifically, there were six lines of enterprise solid state drives, from fairly normal SATA units to high-capacity and fast SAS ones. Well, normal insofar as nay SSD made from 3D Vertical-NAND chips can be called such.

The SM953 is the most interesting of the lot. It boasts the highest performance figures in the whole enterprise collection, with 1,750 MB/s read and 750 MB/s write speed. You can thank the M.2, PCI Express-based form factor for that.

The unit on show has a capacity of 480 GB, but other options should be made available as well.

As far as SATA drives go, we have the PM863 and SM863, with up to 3.84 TB capacity and 530 / 480 MB/s read/write speed.

Finally, Samsung brought out some SATA 12 Gbps storage devices, made of 32-layer 128Gbit TLC NAND instead of MLC.

These devices ship with up to 1.6 TB storage space and attain 1.4 GB/s read and 1.3 GB/s write speed on a good day. As usual, performance varies according to capacity.

Unfortunately, the prices and exact arrival dates of the products were not included in the report of their emergence.
