As I reported earlier today, Toshiba was spotted prepping a pretty extensive Chromebook stand at CES 2014, showing us that the company was ready to unveil its first Chrome-enhanced lappy.
Well, now it’s official and the Chromebook has appeared into the wild, reports Liliputing. As expected, the device sports a 13-inch screen and bundles an Intel Celeron 2955U processor (Haswell architecture) inside. And all for the price of $280 / €205.
If you’re having a deja-vu, that’s exactly how much you have to pay for the HP Chromebook 11. So by opting for the Toshiba model, you will be getting a device with a bigger display and a faster processor (maybe even a longer battery life) by paying the same amount of money.
The Chromebook features a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and bundles 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage. It also has an SD card reader, 2 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI out, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.
Customers will be able to carry it around with ease, as the device is 0.8 inches / 2.03 cm thick and weighs just 3.3 pounds / 1.4 kg.
Expect the Toshiba Chromebook to become available for purchase starting February 16.
