Despite the size, it is powered by an Intel Core i3 CPU and has up to 16 GB RAM

Mini PCs have modest hardware even when they stick to the more normal rectangular case, but the Zotac ZBOX 01520 on show at the Consumer Electronics Show ignored that reality quite readily.

Sure, it can't pack gaming-level hardware, not even close, but despite being a small and, more importantly, spherical object, it can still cram up to 16 GB DDR3 RAM, a 2.5-inch HDD/SSD and an mSATA SSD within.

All this while not neglecting to integrate Bluetooth 4.0, Gigabit LAN, a 4-in-1 card reader, 802.11ac WiFi, HDMI and six USB ports (four USB 3.0, two 2.0).

For a small black ball, that's a lot. Sure, the base ZBOX 01520 option has 4 GB RAM and 500 GB HDD, but the CPU is still Intel's dual-core Core i3-4010U (1.7 GHz) and everything else is the same. Too bad prices are still under wraps.
