It's twice the speed of other portable drives featuring USB 3.0

Super-thin drives have allure, but beyond a certain level, there's no point in thinning things up anymore, and this opens doors for other things, like putting two drives in the same case.

The Seagate Backup Plus Fast portable drive is an example of this, featuring a capacity of 4 TB and a transfer speed of 220 MB/s over USB 3.0, as a result of two HDDs set up in RAID 0 mode.

Android and iOS phones/tablets can use an app to have the drive automatically back up their data (for PCs, it works out-of-the-box).

Seagate expects people to pay $299.99 / €299.99 for it.

There's a second drive too, Seagate Backup Slim, with a single HDD inside, meaning that the capacity is of 2 TB. The price of that one is $179.99 / €179.99.
