There’s a few days left before the International CES 2014 in Las Vegas closes its doors, and most of the biggest players on the digital camera market have already announced quite a few new products that will be released this year.

Among them, Japanese camera and optics manufacturer Nikon has recently unveiled its new entry-level D3300 digital SLR along with a revamped version of its classic kit lens, the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II.

Moreover, the company has also announced the development of its new Nikon D4S flagship HD-SLR, which comes with a few improvements over the previous version, including improved image quality thanks to a new image-processing engine and more advanced focusing capabilities.

In addition to that, Nikon has officially revealed the new NIKKOR AF-S 35mm f/1.8G lens for full-frame digital SLR cameras. The lens’ optical construction features 11 elements in 8 groups including 1 ED glass and 1 aspherical element that will reduce flare and chromatic aberrations to a minimum.

The new 35mm f/1.8G FX lens joins a collection of highly regarded f/1.8 lenses, including the AF-S NIKKOR 28mm f/1.8G, AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G, and AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G lenses.

With a constant f/1.8 aperture, the new lens is capable of delivering outstanding image quality, high-contrast, and depth of field control while providing amazing low-light performance.

Measuring 2.83in. / 72mm x 2.81in. / 71.5mm, this lens is a bit longer than the 35mm f/1.8G DX (2.8in. / 70mm x 2.1in. / 52.5mm). Weight is also a tad bigger at 10.7oz / 305g (vs 7oz / 200g), due to its more complex construction.

The Nikon 35mm f/1.8G FX will hit market shelves on February 20 at a suggested retail price of $599.95 / €440.

In addition to that, Nikon also announced at this year's CES show 4 COOLPIX L-series and 5 COOLPIX S-Series cameras ranging from superzoom bridge models to low-end compact digital cameras.
