Although Canon hasn't made any breathtaking announcements at this year's international Consumer Electronics Show regarding its digital camera business, the company is expected to come with a serious flagship DSLR that will compete with Nikon's recently announced D4s model.

Besides the three compact cameras (N100, SX600 HS, and ELPH 340 HS) revealed at CES, Canon also introduced three new camcorder models under its VIXIA HF R-series (VIXIA HF R50, VIXIA HF R52, and VIXIA HF R500).

All three models come with a Genuine Canon HD Video Lens with 57x Advanced Zoom, which is a step up from the previous VIXIA R-series HF cameras (R40, R42, R400) as well as a 3.28MP Full HD CMOS image sensor and SuperRange optical image stabilization technology.

Taking advantage of the latest DIGIC DV 4 image processor, the new camcorders are capable of recording crisp 1080p Full HD video footage at 60 frames per second in either MP4 (35 Mbps) or AVCHD (28 Mbps).

The VIXIA HF R52 and VIXIA HF R50 camcorder models feature enhanced Wi-Fi capabilities similar to their predecessors, which allow you to instantly share your videos online by sending them to a compatible smartphone or tablet. Moreover, with Canon CameraAccess plus you can also use your smartphone/tablet as a remote viewfinder to stream live videos on any compatible Android and iOS device.

In addition to that, Canon also unveiled the VIXIA mini X compact personal camcorder featuring an f/2.8 fisheye lens (160-degree MP4 movies / 170-degree photos /150-degree AVCHD) that gives the shooter enhanced creative possibilities.

VIXIA mini X also comes equipped with a 12.8MP high-sensitivity sensor and Canon's DIGIC DV4 image processor to deliver outstanding image quality even in low-light shooting conditions. The new model also features improved audio quality over its predecessor thanks to the new Linear PCM audio recording capabilities.

The VIXIA HF R52, VIXIA HF R50 and VIXIA HF R500 camcorders will ship starting March at a price of $449.99 / €330, $399.99 / €300, and $299.99 / €220, respectively. VIXIA mini X will also hit shelves in March at a price of $399.99 / €300.
