A slightly more expensive ARM-powered alternative to the Ainol Novo 7

The MIPS-based Ainol Novo 7 Android 4.0 tablet might be good enough for some, but if you prefer to remain on ARM’s side, the $169 (132 EUR) ViewSonic’s e70 definitely looks like the slate to get.

Running the same Android 4.0 operating system as Ainol’s creation, the e70 is based on a so-far unidentified 1GHz ARM processor that is paired with a 4GB of storage and a low-res 800x480 screen.

A microSD card slot, a micro-HDMI port and a rear mounted camera round up the specs list of this 7-inch tablet which definitely doesn’t offer you any more than what you pay for.

The good news, however, is that despite the 2010 hardware found inside it, the ViewPad e70 does a pretty good job as running ICS as you can certainly make out from the video shot by Liliputing and included above this post.

If the low screen resolution doesn’t scare you, then you only have a few more months to wait until ViewSonic’s creation hits the market.
