It was obvious that CES 2012 wasn't going to slide by without a suitable flood of gaming peripherals, so SteelSeries' announcement did not exactly come as a shock.

The company has released the Kinzu v2 and SteelSeries Kinzu v2 Pro Edition, plus the SteelSeries Kana.

The Kinzu v2 and Kinzu v2 Pro Edition have an ambidextrous design, 4-button layout (including the CPI toggle) and stable movement at 65 inches per second. The optical sensor operates at 3,600 FPS.

“The Kinzu v2 and Kinzu v2 Pro Edition are for players who don’t want anything more than minimal buttons and functionality, but that recognize minimal still means quality and precision,” says said Kim Rom, SteelSeries CMO.

The Kinzu 2 and Kinzu 2 Pro Edition should already be found online, priced at $39.99 in the US / 39.99 Euro and $44.99 / 44.99 Euro, respectively.

Compared to the Pro Edition, Kinzu 2 lacks Tournament-grade Omron button switches and has different color options.

Meanwhile, the Kana mouse is a bit more advanced than the other two, with a 6-button layout (it still has an ambidextrous shape).

The optical sensor of 3,600 frames per second is present here as well, but with a stable movement of up to 130 inches per second.

Furthermore, the DCPI is of 1,600 to 3,200 and it should be easy to fire rapid shots during shooters thanks to the two XL-sized side buttons.

Other specifications include UPE teflon mouse feet, two color illumination options (White 1.1 and Black 1.1) and an illuminated scroll wheel (LED intensity is adjustable and can be set to indicate the active CPI profile)

SteelSeries is already selling the Kana, for $49.99 / €49.99.

“With the Designed by Gamers campaign, it was the first time we asked our fans and followers to choose a design for us, and we were incredibly proud to see the response from the community – it makes sense that consumers, specifically our consumers want to have a say in what we’re creating, said Kim Rom, SteelSeries CMO.

“This new line-up of mice were each designed to fulfill the needs of different types of players, especially those who may not need all of the customization that can be found in the SteelSeries Sensei.”
