Since it stores everything in the cloud, the machine itself doesn't need much

It appears that Samsung tried to make its CES 2012 exhibition as varied as possible.

While Blu-ray devices and TVs were expected, a Chrome OS PC (that isn't a laptop) was not as easy to foresee.

Nevertheless, a Chrome OS-powered Chromebox is exactly what Samsung is demonstrating.

Measuring 193 x 193 x 32.6 mm (7.59 x 7.59 x 1.28 inches), it is supposed to be free of all need for actual maintenance.

Chrome OS is unique through its almost absolute reliance on Cloud storage.

In other words, the Chromebox doesn't store anything locally, instead keeping everything on a cloud server.

As such, Samsung reportedly claims, there is no need for anti-virus programs and there is also no chance for data loss.

Alas, the report said nothing about exact specs, availability or pricing.
