The iPods, slightly taking over the audio industry? (again?)

Despite being one of the companies which have been spearheading the audio industry for so many decades now, and being the creator of neat portable multimedia devices which sell like crazy, it seems like Sony has no choice but to get in line with the generic trend and go for the iPod-compatible standards as well.[admark=1]

The CES 2008 has brought a lot of neat, new audio gear from the legendary Sony, including the all-time favorite mini stereo systems, perfect for home integration in any rooms, small or large, kitchens, anywhere.

And of course, the new stereo models sport inlaid iPod docks and also feature recharging capabilities and remote control, like most docking stations do. From now on, it looks like the next thing will be iPod charging docks on the streets, so in case your batteries are running out, stop, insert a nickel, get some power and roll on... dude, where's the iPod era heading to?

Well, back from the small rant, here are the Sony deals. First of all, we have two new small-scale stereo systems with MP3-compatible CD player, with ID3 tagging for the tracks, when this info is available. The BX 20i has a 50W RMS power and will start shipping in February for around $130. It's bigger brother, the BX50BTi has pretty much the same specs, but includes one-way Bluetooth connectivity (receiver only) for A2DP-enabled devices. According to the press release, it should be available in February for $180.

And in case you thought this wasn't enough, Sony's latest HD Radio clock, the S10HDiP, also comes with an inlaid iPod port and iTunes Tagging support, which retains info from the HD radio and sends it to the iPod for quick identification in case you want to buy them from iTunes. This intelligent HD radio clock is expected somewhere this summer for $180.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
