Up to 4096 x 2400 pixel resolution

The CEDIA show is the best place for the major players on the consumer electronics market in general and the A/V solution market in particular to showcase their latest developments, which, in some cases, are pretty much breathtaking. And that's also the case with JVC, which, besides its full-HD projectors, has also unveiled at CEDIA the DLA-SH4K, which, by all accounts, is the world's smallest 4K2K ultra high definition projector, capable of delivering images at an astounding 4096 x 2400 pixels.

The secret behind this very powerful projector is represented by JVC's proprietary 1.27-inch, 10 megapixel D-ILA devices, combined with a very innovative optical system. Thus, the D-ILA devices used in the DLA-SH4K provide native 4096 x 2400 resolution-multi-screen display modes that allow users to view up to four Full HD screens at a time.

The DLA-SH4K sports a high-end optical design, featuring an 825 Watt Xenon lamp that generates a light output of 3500 ANSI Lumens and can be adjusted between 825 to 660 watts. However, if that's not enough for the user's needs, two DLA-SH4Ks can be stacked for increased light output.

Also on the subject of the optical system, it's worth mentioning the fact that JVC will offer two lenses for the projector, the GL-MS4015SZG 1.22x zoom lens for screens up to 300 inches, and the GL-MS4011SG short throw lens for screens up to 250 inches.

Moreover, the available adjustment options make the device's installation quite easy, since the projector can be inclined up to a ± 90-degree tilt angle and has a horizontal lens shift of ±25% and vertical shift of ±50%.

The connectivity options of the DLA-SH4K are not exactly latest-gen, but they're perfectly suited for the specific (and rather narrow) market segment this device targets. The projector has thus been equipped with 4 x DVI-D (dual-link) input terminals that accept a wide variety of input resolutions, as well as RS-232C and USB connections. Additionally, an Ethernet interface offers support for adjustment and installation from web browsers on PCs, but also allows multiple projectors to be operated with a single PC.

Unfortunately, even if JVC does mention the fact that the DLA-SH4K is available immediately, it doesn't say anything about the price tag. This is rather understandable, since most similar products sell for around 200,000 US dollars, which means that this will most likely be the price range for this projector as well.
