A major upgrade of the CDLinux operating system was announced three days ago (April 12th) by Ben Zhao. Most of the packages in CDLinux 0.9.6 were updated, starting with the Linux kernel and the XOrg server, and finishing with the icon themes or various libraries. CDlinux is a minimal Linux distribution that runs with the Xfce window manager, and includes bleeding-edge applications.

"Thanks to the open source ATi and Intel drivers, when now [sic] have farely [sic] good 2D/3D support on almost all ATi and Intel chip based video cards. PAE is also enabled in this release. As a result, we can support up to 64G RAM now. While the downside is that you can't run CDlinux 0.9.6 on older CPUs (5×86, K6, Pentium, etc.) anymore, even the mini edition." - Ben Zhao said in the official release announcement.
