The load-out for arch player will depend on player choices and tactical situations

Video game developer CCP has offered some more information on the weaponry that gamers will be able to use in the upcoming multiplayer-oriented shooter Dust 514, talking about how each of them will enable the player to vary his experience in the game.

All players in Dust 514 have to choose the type of dropsuit that they plan to use and their weapon choices will be limited based on their decisions.

The rather impressive Minmatar MH82-BCR, which is described by the development team at CCP as a personal autocannon, can only be used when wearing a heavy dropsuit and will offer the firepower needed to deal with both armored vehicles and large numbers of grunts while making it hard for them to move around quickly or fulfill any other roles.

The development team has also talked about a shotgun, called the Gallente CRG-3 Plasma Shotgun, for those who prefer to move around quickly and cause big amounts of damage with one single shot.

And even though this is the far future, Dust 514 will also allow gamers to sneak up on their enemies in order to literally backstab them using something called the Caldari ZN-28 Nova Knife, which sports a heated edge made of actual plasma, in order to get through the strongest armor.

Dust 514 is full of lore taken from its bigger cousin, EVE Online, but the links extend beyond a simple shared universe as gamers playing the two MMOs can influence each other, offering missions and changing the actual ownership of crucial planets.

It is not yet known whether Dust 514 will get the same political and espionage meta-game that has become the main attraction to EVE Online.

At the moment, Dust 514 is in closed beta stage and a launch on both the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the PC is planned for later during the spring of this year.
