14 DAY TRIAL // A major tornado has hit Oklahoma, killing 91 and injuring hundreds, according to initial estimates. Out of respect for all those hit by tragedy, CBS has pulled the season finale of “Mike & Molly,” which included a related storyline.
The episode will be aired at a later, yet to be announced date. It sees the two protagonists stranded in their home city, Chicago, during a tornado.
Network executives deemed this particular storyline too inappropriate to air at such a difficult time, as the statement released to USA Today clearly stresses.
“Due to the tragic events this afternoon in Oklahoma, we are pre-empting tonight's season finale of Mike & Molly, which has a related storyline,” the network says.
“A repeat broadcast of Mike & Molly will run in the time period. The season finale will be broadcast at an appropriate date,” the statement further says.
