CBS has just released its fall schedule, and among new arrivals is “Limitless,” the series based on the 2011 thriller with Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro. The new TV show also got a first trailer, which you will find available below and which confirms that it will play out like a direct sequel to the film.

Yes, that means that Bradley Cooper, aka the Academy Award nominee who is now one of the hottest properties in Hollywood, is making a brief return to television.

He will be reprising his role in the original movie, that of Eddie Morra, who takes Brian Finch (played by Jake McDorman) as his protégé. He will also be supplying him with NZT, the mysterious drug that boasts all mental abilities to the maximum, thus transforming whoever takes it into a superman or superwoman.

Finch gets in trouble with the feds, and they decide to make him their best asset. So, instead of trying to prevent him from getting more NZT, they end up supplying him with it in exchange for help with their most difficult cases.

This sounds like a standard procedural, but it has Jennifer Carpenter, Hill Harper and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio as leads, in addition to Cooper’s recurring role, and a solid premise, so that’s enough to get me to give it a chance, at the very least.

What about you, will you be tuning in? Let me know in the comments.
