Gamers can also learn more about the Golden Chests

The development team at Bungie working on Destiny has allowed players interested in the game to experience its core features during both an alpha and a beta stage, but it seems that they have kept some surprises for those who pick up the final version of the title, and the biggest of them is the design of the Raids.

Eric Osborne, one of the developers working on the title, tells IGN that “The most satisfying and rewarding aspects of the Raid require that we let you experience it fresh, so you can figure it out for yourself alongside a crew of your friends. They are easily the largest, most complex, and challenging single activity we have ever attempted to build.”

Bungie makes it clear that gamers will have to get access to some decent armor and weapons before attempting to enter a Raid and that they should also create a group of other players who can put together a plan and then execute it without many mistakes.

Osborne adds that all those who work well together can finish a Raid in order to get some solid rewards, while those who fail will be punished by the core mechanics of Destiny.

When Destiny was first announced, Bungie claimed that most of the game would be accessible to those who want to play solo, but the Raid content is designed for groups.

The Bungie developer also decided to offer some more info about the Golden Chests that some gamers found in the shooter and about their long-term importance.

He explains that “Each destination has several hidden Gold Chests for you to find. They have treasure inside, and if you collect them all, you might earn yourself a bigger prize. There are also other treasure chests spread out all over the worlds of Destiny. Some of them are hidden fairly well, and a lot of fun to find. I like to pretend that I’m Nicholas Cage, hot on the trail of ancient secrets.”

Destiny is a complex video game that aims to take the core mechanics of the shooter genre and mix them with elements from the role-playing and the massive multiplayer spaces.

Bungie says that it sees the title as an ongoing experience that will be constantly improved and expanded.

Destiny will be launched on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft and last-gen consoles on September 9.

Rumors have suggested that a PC version might be revealed at a later date.
