All modes are designed to offer similar experiences

The development team at Bungie has already shared a lot of information about the coming House of Wolves expansion for Destiny and it seems that the rest of the mechanics included in the content drop are all focused on the expansion of end-game content.

The new Trials of Osiris event is designed to allow players to compete as part of fireteams in a mode that will allow their competitive nature to express itself and will give the winners access to some big rewards.

Lars Bakken, the design lead for the Crucible portion of Destiny, tells Eurogamer that "If you are a PvP player, and you like caring about winning and getting the best stuff and PvE is less interesting to you, this is another way for you to do this. It's true of House of Wolves in general. We wanted to give you multiple routes to get to the endgame, and have multiple new endgame things, without there just being the crux, the one thing."

Since the social shooter was first launched, a lot of players have complained about the limited nature of the Player versus Player experience the title offered and asked for it to be expanded.

The first expansion, The Dark Below, was too far along in development to incorporate the feedback coming from players, but all the data has been taken into account for House of Wolves.

Bakken admits that rewards for Crucible action were too limited and said that they are being brought online with the rest of the experience.

House of Wolves will not introduce a new end-game raid

The focus on Player versus Player action and on the delivery of solid rewards regardless of the activity the player likes comes at a price, however.

Bungie has made clear that there are no plans to introduce an end-game raid, like Crota's End, in the coming expansion.

One is in development, but it is not clear whether it will be added for free for all players before the end of the year.

The new raid might be part of a second rumored expansion that will appear in the fall of this year, codenamed Comet, which is expected to add an entirely new area to the game world for players to explore.

House of Wolves for Destiny is coming all over the world on May 19.
