Gamers can choose whether they plan to engage with the community

The development team at Bungie says that its upcoming Destiny is designed to accommodate a range of play styles and will allow gamers who are lone wolves to simply ignore all others and get through content and events on their own.

DeeJ, a community manager working on the title, tells the official PlayStation Blog that gamers will have complete freedom when it comes to their own social interactions.

He states, “You’ll see other players along the way, but you can choose to ignore them. That said, we think you’ll find that playing with other Guardians is quick, painless, and a ton of fun. It’s always your choice, though.”

The only problem with playing solo is that some of the events and the raids can be tough to complete.

Bungie says that most of Destiny is balanced using a three-man Fireteam that allows player characters to use a number of different skills and weapons to tackle any challenge.

In order to make sure that players join their peers, the studio is trying to make it as easy as possible to take part in a new event.

DeeJ adds, “No lobbies. No loading screens. The frontier is open, and filled with encounters you can join, or skip right past, on your way to something you’ve deemed momentarily more important.”

Destiny will mix a traditional first-person shooter experience with a deep, story-driven universe, character customization and social elements.

Many of the features will be shown during a beta stage that will be launched in the first two months of 2014.

To get in, fans of Destiny will have to pre-order the game at retailers that are taking part in the promotion and then use the included 9-digit code.

The full game experience will be out on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, the PS3 and the 360 in the second quarter of next year.
