Developer Bungie says that the class system in its new Destiny title will allow gamers to use the exact same weaponry but will offer a varied experience by delivering different armors to wear and a variety of Focus powers to use.

When they create their character, gamers can choose between a Titan, a Warlock or a Hunter but they will have a lot of freedom to then customize their chosen class to match their playing style.

The Focus concept allows players to select a tiered system of upgrades that will include new specializations, more grenade types to use, more ways to traverse the environment, including teleports and double jumps, and an impressive special power.

Bungie says that the Warlock will be able to launch a Nova Bomb, although its exact effects have not been revealed, according to The Official Xbox Magazine.

The studio also offers examples of the potential Focus choices: Warlocks can use the Heart of Fusion, which is built around support powers or Circle of Night, oriented towards damage delivery.

A Titan can choose to focus on Fist of Havoc, which creates a Shockwave that takes out targets with electrical damage.

Bungie is also offering some information on the cooperative mission types that Destiny will deliver, which will be separated into Strikes, which are quick to complete, and Raids, which require more players and time.

For players who are more focused on Player versus Player action, the studio delivers classic deathmatch and zone capture mechanics.

Destiny aims to mix traditional first-person shooter mechanics and social elements and the team at Bungie wants to launch a big beta stage for the game in the first few months of 2014.

The game will be released the same year on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and current-gen consoles.
