Bump, an iOS app that makes file sharing as simple as bumping two phones together, has received a major update which adds a revamped calendar module, instant connecting to Facebook, LinedIn and Twitter, a new chat feature that allows users to keep sending stuff without another bump, and unlimited photo and contact sharing.

Users of Bump Technologies’ application simply pick what they want to send, then hold their phones and gently bump hands with another person using Bump. This way they can effortlessly share photos, contacts, calendar events and become friends on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. An announcement on the Bump Blog reveals that version 2.0 of the app is now available.

“Hey Bumpers – After weeks of careful planning and building, we are very excited to announce the release of Bump 2.0 for iPhone!,” the Bump Team wrote on its blog. “We’ve given Bump a drastic makeover and incorporated a bunch of cool new features (thanks to all the feedback we’ve gotten from our users). We hope that that you’ll find 2.0 a lot easier to operate and even more useful than before!”, reads the announcement. Bump Technologies LLC then provides a list of v.2.0 specific changes, as shown below.

2.0 New Features: - The Calendar module lets users compare calendars and send invites back and forth that save automatically to each person’s calendar. - You can now connect instantly on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter and you can also compare friends to see who you know in common! - Bump now includes a chat feature that allows you to keep sending things to your friend without another bump! - Unlimited Photo and Contact sharing

Bump Technologies LLC also confirmed that the development team is working hard to release the Android version of the software which, they hope, will be out later this summer. Bump is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 3.0 or later.
