The Balkan country will be aided by a special FBI agent in their battles against cybercriminals, according to an announcement made during a US visit of the Bulgarian Interior Minister.

Local news agency Novinite claims that the country's Main Directorate for Fighting Organized Crime (GDBOP) will be assisted by the agent in cases that involve things such as identity theft and financial fraud.

The Interior Minister has planned a lot of meetings with US officials, many of them being related to cyber and physical security. The head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation will also soon visit Bulgaria, after declaring that the collaboration between the FBI and the Ministry is “better than ever”.

Since the Feds have a lot of experience in dealing with cybercriminals, they can provide a lot of useful  information which can aid any country in the fight against the latest criminal phenomenons.
