This is what happens when you make the thing modular

Modularity is a trait that seems to be increasingly prized in all technological and industrial fields, so it's no surprise that sports-oriented inventions are adopting the concept as well.

Case in point, a team of designers from Wisconsin has created a light and portable jetski.

And by modular we mean that it can be disassembled until it can be stored in the trunk of your car without any trouble.

Or maybe we should say it's a pile of different parts that can be assembled into a standard jetski that can cruise at 40 mph and be ridden in both standing and sitting position.

The heaviest component, the powertrain, does reach 80 pounds, or roughly 36 kilos, but no one said you're expected to cart the thing around in a backpack.

Having the whole thing in your car trunk is easier than requisitioning and dragging along a trailer just for the jetski after all.

The name of the modular jetski is BomBoard, and the price of the aquatic vehicle is $3,500 / €2,548. Or below. That's what the ones who made the BomBoard hope anyhow. That it will be affordable (as much as a vehicle of any sort can be called affordable at any rate).
