14 DAY TRIAL // I grew up with “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” the TV series and I always wondered how Buffy could simply move on from Angel with Spike. It’s not that Spike wasn’t a “catch” since I actually liked him in equal measure as Angel, but I just couldn’t understand how you move on from such a beautiful love story.
As it turns out, even Sarah Michelle Gellar, who gave life to the world’s most famous vampire slayer with this the series, would choose Angel over Spike. This isn’t saying a lot after all this years unless, of course, you were a fan of the show like me.
Gellar did a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) yesterday to promote her new series, “The Crazy Ones” with Robin Williams and, asked by WilliamTheBloody3 who she’d choose from these two, she replied, “ANGEL.” Do notice the caps.
WilliamTheBloody3 asked (and probably regretted later, judging from the moniker), “Spike or Angel?” Gellar replied, in all caps, “ANGEL.”
The AMA continued, but some still couldn’t believe she hadn’t picked Spike. So Defeasiblefee asked her again, “Settle a debate going on over at r/buffy right now. Angel or Spike?” “Still Angel,” the actress replied.
Zoidberg3000 even pushed the issue further, asking her how David Boreanaz, who played Angel, smelled. “I can say that David honestly smells very good and continues to smell very good. I apologize to Jamie his wife for answering that question,” Sarah Michelle said.
