People who want to buy a new USB 3.0 storage device might want to check out Buffalo's SSD-PEU3 series, assuming they live in Japan that is.

Long story short, the company has released three new solid state drives with capacities of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB, respectively.

In that order, they bear prices of $105, $168 and $392, or 80 Euro, 128 Euro and 298 Euro, respectively.

That said, the data transfer speed reach up to 266.7 MB/s, which isn't half bad, all things considered.

As for the physical side of things, the SSDs have glossy enclosures colored “Black Crystal” or “Ruby Red.”

Sales will begin by the end of this month (April, 2012) and the warranty is of one year for each. We can't say that length of time inspires much confidence, but to each his own.
