They also have a collapsible strap hole, to ensure they're not lost

People who happen to live in Japan might have the fortune of encountering some new flash drives during their perusal of tech products. Said flash drives are known as the RUF3-PW Series.

As usual, Buffalo didn't really bother trying to give its products some super-flashy name. This isn't supposed to be some miraculous storage series after all.

Besides, when it comes to USB flash drives, people pay more attention to what they can do and what they look like than the brand.

Understandable, since NAND Flash products in general have to comply with the directions inside technical specifications from the USB Implementers forum and all associations that busy themselves with the improvement of each type of flash memory solution.

So Buffalo hopes to charm potential customers through a wide coverage of different tastes in aesthetics.

That's why the RUF3-PW Series comes in several capacities and can have one out of four colors.

More specifically, there are 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB drives colored green, pink, yellow and blue. It makes one wonder why red, white and black weren't included, but maybe Buffalo just wanted to stay as far away from normality as possible without chasing people off.

Whatever the reason, the newcomers are bound to pull at least a few buyers to their side. After all, despite weighing just 12 grams and measuring 65 x 23 x 9 mm (2.55 x 0.90 x 0.35 inches), the things offer up to 32 GB and transfer speeds of up to 70 MB/s.

Sadly, we don't know when Buffalo's new inventions will make it out of Japan, or whether it will ever happen. The company didn't even share the prices.

Given the slide-out design and the strap hole that can be hidden (it's collapsible, in a way), they will probably be a tiny bit higher than for others.
