The creator of the series “Breaking Bad,” Vince Gilligan, has refused to revisit the story in one of the most appreciated series on TV in later years, but he's now considering the possibility of bringing back Walter White, the main character of the show in a new series, “Better Call Saul,” which is a spinoff from the original.

Hollywoodlife has found out that Cranston is “definitely” going to make a return in the new show, after the director was hesitant to reveal to fans if he was going to make a comeback. As fans of the regular show will remember, Walter's fate on “Breaking Bad” had an awful twist that sort of makes it impossible for him to appear in a new series.

But the fact that the spinoff is a prequel, meaning that the story happens before the events in “Breaking Bad” take place, it would be logically possible for you to catch a glimpse of Walter White on the show.

The possibility of Walter White making an appearance is made even stronger by flashbacks and flash-forwards, according to one insider, who says, “With the new show coming and the possibility of flashbacks or flash-forwards, there is going to be something with Walter White.”

And because Vince Gilligan is not a slave to appearances, Cranston's inclusion in the show is going to be fraught with meaning, not just to fill up air time. “They won’t do it as a gimmick, it will actually mean something when they do it. Definitely expect the return of Walter White in some way, shape or form in the new show,” warns the insider.

Fans are still left wondering as to Walter's fate after the strange way “Breaking Bad” ended. Cranston himself aided the confusion when he recently smiled in an interview and hinted that his character was not 100% dead. He said something in the lines of “you didn't see a body bag, did you?”

Apart from his return on screen, there is even more potentially exciting news, the fact that “Breaking Bad” could be tuned into a full-length feature film. Judging by the size of the fan base, the chances this film is going to be a box-office hit are pretty big, but that's still not enough to convince Vince Gilligan into writing it.

Still, the fact that you're going to see a younger, healthier version of Walter White back on the screen is probably enough to make your week better. “Better Call Saul” is set to premiere later this year, with the fall lineup.
