Here’s to hoping at least one of the most recent rumors on Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” sequel, “Batman vs. Superman,” turns out to be true: following reports that Christian Bale might return as Batman comes talk that Bryan Cranston could star as Lex Luthor.

Cranston, for those who aren’t familiar with his most recent work, is the same guy who managed to make a lovable high school chemistry teacher into a blood chilling meth cook and killer on AMC’s “Breaking Bad.” In other words, he’d be a perfect villain.

Asked by Metro if he’d ever consider a role in the film, Cranston said, “Give me a call. I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man.”

The publication adds that he was smiling when he said this, while also speaking with some familiarity on the topic, as if either he’d been approached already or he’d given it some serious thought.

Just yesterday, word got out that Warner Bros. offered Bale no less than $60 million (€45.3 million) to play Batman again, opposite Henry Cavill’s Superman in what will surely be the biggest release of 2015.
