Brutal Legend might not have done as well in retail as publisher Electronic Arts had hoped but to its credit, the company is still willing to breathe some more shelf life into the game by allowing developer Double Fine to create and put out downloadable content packs for the metal-themed videogame.

After Tears of the Hextadon, Brutal Legend is set to also get The Hammer of Infinite Faith, which should arrive on December 17. Those who are interested in picking it up will need to spend 480 Microsoft Points on the Xbox Live Marketplace or 4.99 dollars on the PlayStation Network.

The Hammer of Infinite Fate pack is set to introduce fresh skins for the main character, some new weapon upgrades allowing the player to develop new strategies for the toughest of foes, more multiplayer maps and a sprinkling of new Achievements to attract those interested in getting all the Gamer Points a title can offer. One of the most interesting additions is the Oculus of the Lost, a king of General Positioning System for the world of metal that will permit all the players to find the various locations hidden in the game world.

Tim Schafer, the main mind behind Brutal Legend, stated that “I’m excited about the beard, or course, and the new achievements and trophies. But the thing I really can’t wait to get my hands on is that Oculus of the Lost. Using it to find the last Bound Serpent isn’t cheating, because it looks so cool on my car.”

Players will probably also be very interested in the four new multiplayer maps: the Altar of Blood, the Coiled Remains, the Crucible of the Titans, and the Amplified Cliffs, each with a unique twist for those keen on bringing the power of metal to bear against other human players.
