Brutal Legend is one of the most interesting titles to appear this fall season, and one of the few new properties to still be scheduled during that particular busy period of the year. Set to tell the story of roadie Eddie Riggs and his epic saga through a fantasy land based on heavy metal motives, the title's many features have been teased for quite some time.

At the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the creator of the game and the leader of Double Fine Productions, Tim Schafer, teased about a few multiplayer modes for the game. People immediately began to speculate on how this mechanic would work or how it would combine with the already intense single player mode.

But now, thanks to the Xbox.com website and its page dedicated to the title, at least one of the multiplayer modes for Brutal Legend has been revealed. The product page shows that a four-versus-four multiplayer will be included in the final game, in order to combine both brawling and strategic command of your allies against the opposing faction.

“Multiplayer: Four-versus-four “skirmish” multiplayer marries action combat with a strategic unit-control mechanic. As the leader of one of the factions in the game, direct your armies in a Battle of the Bands where the trophy is survival, and even take your battle online over Xbox Live,” revealed the product page of Brutal Legend on the Xbox.com website.

Don't forget that in the single player mode Eddie Riggs can make allies and gather armies of headbangers in order to help him against the evil overlord of the fantasy land, so it definitely seems that this sort of action will be translated into the multiplayer mode.

Hopefully we will get to hear many more details about this great game, which will satisfy our thirst of rock-themed games until October, when the title will be launched. That is, unless Activision says otherwise.
