The Chris Brown domestic violence case has just gotten a whole lot more complicated, as new reports are coming in that not only was Rihanna badly beaten up by the 19-year-old singer, but he even threatened to kill her. As the police are keeping a lid on the story until the ongoing investigation concludes, eyewitnesses are speaking to the media, painting a gruesome picture of what went down on Sunday, when Chris Brown physically assaulted Rihanna in his rented Lamborghini.

One such eyewitness spoke exclusively to E! Online, saying that the fight that began inside the vehicle escalated to physical violence when Rihanna took the car keys and tossed them out of the window. Brown went out to look for them, the source adds, and, when it became clear to him that he would not find them, he went back in, furious and with fists clenched.

“He tried in vain to find the keys, then came back to the car, put his hands around her neck and, according to the insider, said, ‘I’m going to kill you!’ According to the source, the 20-year-old ‘Disturbia’ singer told police that she lost consciousness, and when she awoke, Brown had fled.” the e-zine reports in today’s issue. When the police arrived at the scene, it is further explained, Rihanna was in such a bad shape (with contusions on each side of her head, a broken nose and lip, bite marks and hand prints on her arms) that the officers started to be really concerned about her.

After taking photos of the victim (which are said to be enough evidence alone to prove domestic abuse), the singer was rushed to the hospital in a police car, even before the ambulance arrived. She was taken to Cedars-Sinai and treated for her injuries, and then escorted through a back door not to attract any attention. Her whereabouts ever since have not been made public to the media.

Following the incident, an arrest warrant was issued in Brown’s name. Within hours, he turned himself in to the police, was booked and walked on bail, set at $50,000. The police refused to release his mugshot or Rihanna’s photos at the scene of the incident, saying they were key elements to the investigation. However, a spokesperson for the force confirmed that Rihanna could be heard screaming out loud on the 911 tape – as it is known, it was not the singer who called it in, but a concerned bystander who heard the fight.
