Brother International just announced that it has released its latest monochrome laser Multi-Function Centre (MFC) developed especially to meet the requirements of enterprise workgroups - the MFC-8860DN. The manufacturer built a special device which features up to five functions, namely Laser Printing, Faxing, Copying, Color Scanning and Monochrome PC Faxing.

Moreover, the MFC-8860DN has also scalability options, and, consequently, its standard 32MB memory can be easily upgraded to an enhanced 544MB, offering an extended storage capacity in order to solve most of the business oriented issues.

As it is business oriented, Brother's latest model offers a standard 250-sheet input paper tray and 50-sheet multi-purpose tray and, moreover, is also expandable to 550-sheet with an optional 250-sheet paper tray.

The MFC-8860DN supports two security features, the first being the integrated Secure Print feature. This function enables the user to enter a password before confidential documents can be printed, reducing the risk of the user's printed document being retrieved by an unauthorized person. The second function is named Secure Function Lock and it is meant to deliver an enhanced security as this feature allows an administrator to restrict user access to several important functions such as printing, copying and scanning.

MFC-8860DN will be soon available at a price of $1,388, and it will come with an additional 3-year on site warranty. The latest MFC model can be purchased through Brother International Singapore authorized distributors (C20 and Ingram Micro) and retailers.
