Dancing With the Stars co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet has spoken out about her elimination as co-host from the show, which, at the time it came out, she branded as “shocking.” Burke was present on Good Morning America to speak about the fashion on the Red Carpet at the Oscar Awards.

But before she got down to speak about such dresses as the one Lupita Nyong'o wore during the awards, Brooke took the time to speak about her elimination. In her words, the most shocking thing about being cut after seven years of co-hosting was “the way that it went down.”

She's referring to the fact that she was told about being fired just a couple of weeks before the premiere of the new season was about to air. “Finding out just several weeks before the premiere was a little bit tough, but I'm good,” Brooke said and added “I'm happy,” wanting to let fans know that she had now come to terms with her elimination from the talent show.

It was her who broke the news to the world in a tweet on February 2, “weird day….Shocking pre-season elimination #DWTS…ME. @TomBergeron didn't even read my name. I won't be returning to the show this season,” when she addressed the fact that show-host Tom Bergeron did not mention her.

After the news spread, it took only a couple of days for the show to announce their new co-host, in the person of FOX Sports correspondent Erin Andrews, a 35-year-old who first appeared on Dancing With the Stars as a contestant in 2008 and eventually won, accompanied by partner Derek Hough.

Wanting to seem like a good sport, Brooke said that she was going to watch the show's premiere as she told Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts and Lara Spencer, “It really isn't about us as the hosts, it's about the casts. We are only as good as our casts.”

The lifestyle guru Burke-Charvet, who overcame thyroid cancer in 2012, now claims that she's moving forward from Dancing With the Stars and focusing on other projects, but didn't care to specify what they were going to be.

She hinted at a little resentment on her part when she told GMA hosts “I'm excited about a new venture and diving into a new project and my fan base has been so supportive… a little bit angry…so I hope they're still going to tune in.” She chose to conclude with “I'm excited,” before moving on to the actual Oscar fashion talk.
