Only a few months ago, Brooke Burke-Charvet was battling cancer but she’s already back to her normal routine, healthy and happy again. That’s her goal in life, she says in a new interview with Health magazine.

She’s got that first part down alright, as the photo attached to this article will confirm: Brooke is showing off her perfect abs on the cover of the magazine.

She’s also talking (in the accompanying interview) about aging gracefully and how she’s personally against the Hollywood trend of getting lots of fillers to look younger.

The time to look 25 was when she was 25, the 41-year-old star says for the fitness publication.

“The 40s are a reality check. I would like to slow down my aging process, but I don't want to look like a pumpkin, all swollen!” Brooke says.

She’s talking about getting fillers and Botox to fight the signs of age, a practice too common with celebrities today – and not only.

“You have to embrace Mother Nature a little,” she insists. “I'm a woman. I'm a wife. I'm a mother of four. I don't want to look like a 25-year-old anymore. I want to be my best healthy self.”

In the same interview, the gorgeous dancer also says that exercise has always been her refuge and, as of late, her salvation in the battle with cancer.

Speaking of which, she says being diagnosed with thyroid cancer was a wakeup call, so she’s now doing her best to make others understand as well the need for regular medical checkups.

“Getting my diagnosis through a routine physical was pretty shocking and a pretty important message for everyone to just be responsible enough to get regular checkups, to take care of your health, to be a good patient and to follow up,” Brooke says.
