Revolution Software has a long standing tradition of developing rich adventure titles for Sony platforms, since its 1996 release of Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars for the original PlayStation.

Now they are launching the latest episode in the adventure, Broken Sword 5: The Serpente's Curse – Episode One, available starting tomorrow on the PlayStation Vita.

The next installment in the legendary point-and-click adventure series Broken Sword is described as the studio's most ambitious game to date.

The action places gamers in the shoes of intrepid American George Stobbard and sassy French journalist Nico Collard, while on the trail of a heist that turns into a murderous conspiracy.

“George and Nico are cast together again when a mysterious painting is stolen during an armed raid on a Paris gallery. From Paris to London and beyond, the trail becomes a race against time as dark forces from Europe’s turbulent past are woken from their slumber,” as the official announcement states on the PlayStation Blog.

Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse reunited many of the original Broken Sword team members that were able to push the envelope and evolve the consecrated art direction of the series.

The developers also commented that the visuals drawn by the talented team look particularly lush on the PlayStation Vita's screen, and that the device's front and rear touch screen together with the analogue stick and shoulder buttons are an ideal tool set for allowing the development of an intuitive user interface.

The team is also working on a sequel, Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse – Episode Two, planned for the first quarter of 2014 and available for purchase both as a standalone release and as part of a bundle.

The game launches tomorrow and comes with an $18 / €13 price tag, featuring a 20% discount for PlayStation Plus members.
