Independent studio Double Fine Productions finally confirms that the second act of its Broken Age adventure game is going to debut on April 28, alongside the full version of the experience for the PS4 and PS Vita platforms.

Double Fine Productions was nearing bankruptcy a few years ago, but thanks to several successful Kickstarter campaigns, the studio went back in the green and started making a good enough profit in order to justify investing in other projects.

One of its most successful Kickstarter projects was Broken Age, initially known as the Double Fine Adventure, which became such a massive endeavor that the studio had to split its PC release into two acts.

The first one launched back in January of last year, and the second chapter was promised for a release as soon as possible.

Act 2 of Broken Age launches in late April

Now, after over a year since the debut of the initial chapter, the second and final act of Broken Age has been confirmed for release on April 28. At the same time, the studio will also debut the full version of Broken Age for PS4 and PS Vita, which includes both acts.

According to the announcement on the PS blog, the game will enjoy all the various features seen in Grim Fandango Remastered on PS4 and PS Vita, such as cross-buy, cross save, and lots of other enhancements to take advantage of the consoles.

The game's final act brings to a conclusion the adventures of the two protagonists in Broken Age, Vella and Shay, a girl and a boy from two completely different worlds that lead parallel lives. Fans were already pretty pleased with the first act on PC, and this will be the first taste of the game for PlayStation fans.
