The hilarious action platformer is still in Early Access

Developer Free Lives has launched the Alien Infestation Update for its action platformer Broforce, adding a touch of Giger's aesthetic vision to the game.

Broforce is a pretty crazy game, putting together all the action heroes of the '80s in an explosive, over-the-top action setting infused with healthy doses of mayhem and humor.

From Rambo, Timecop and Snake Plisken to Conan, Neo and Ellen Ripley, pretty much every iconic character from the action blockbusters of yore is represented as a playable brodude, each coming with their own signature weapon and special ability.

Now, the world of Broforce has become infested with xenomorphs, new alien enemies, deadly traps, and a couple of new bosses.

In the past, you had to fight the terrorist forces threatening our way of life, bringing them a napalm-infused taste of democracy. Now, the fight is more brutal than ever, as the enemy has become a ruthless alien force.

More new content than ever

Publisher Devolver Digital has released a trailer for the Alien Infestation Update, showcasing some of the new game mechanics and levels, offering you a pretty good look at the action that's coming your way.

The update is the biggest in the game yet, coming with a lot of new challenges that will test the skills of even the most seasoned of gamers.

You'll have to face deadly spike traps while running away from facehuggers that want to make sweet love to your stomach. If they catch any of the bros, you'd better find them and kill them before an even bigger problem bursts from their chests.

A huge, sandworm-like boss has been added to the game, and you'll have to find a way to shoot it down without being dissolved by its deadly acid spit.

The team's next update will deliver even more alien content, and the developers have even offered us a sneak peek at one of the boss concepts, available in the gallery below.

Unfortunately, the game has no release date yet, aside from sometime in 2015. People have been waiting for it for quite a while, but the Early Access version is fun enough as it is.
