Yesterday, word got out in the media that Britney Spears’ “Circus” tour, her first in many years and following her much mediated off period, was in danger of being canceled because she and former husband Kevin Federline could not reach an agreement regarding their two children. Today, Britney’s management has infirmed the initial reports, saying that the singer will hit the road as scheduled, with her children nonetheless.

“Both Sean Preston and Jayden James will, in fact, be joining Britney throughout the duration of her tour. Britney is so excited to kick off her tour. She has been enjoying every moment of rehearsals and is looking forward to performing in front of a live audience again.” someone from Britney’s management team wrote on the singer’s official website. So, it seems that either the initial reports were completely wrong, or that the former couple finally managed to reach an arrangement favorable to all parties involved.

Gossip website and paparazzi agency TMZ was the first to report on the story, saying it had it from very reliable sources that Britney was seriously considering calling off the entire tour because Federline’s attorney were opposing the understanding they had reached regarding the children. Apparently, Spears had made all the arrangements to have Kevin living with the children in three town “bases,” where she would be able to visit them in between gigs. She would also pay for all of Kevin’s expenses, while also giving him $4,000 for each week she was on tour.

Reportedly, when her former husband’s attorneys learned of the off-the-record understanding, they let her know that they did not agree with it, on account of unspecified reasons. “We’re told a week ago K-Fed's lawyers became aware of the plan and were furious, thinking Jamie [Spears, Britney’s father] went behind their backs. Sources tell us K-Fed’s lawyers have said they object to the plan, but won’t specifically say why. Britney WILL cancel the tour if she can’t take her kids... we know that for a fact.” TMZ reported yesterday.

As it turns out, all things worked out just fine and not only will Britney tour as announced, but she will also get to spend enough time with her children.
