Although just a few days ago word got out that Britney was already back in the studio, rehearsing for her upcoming tour, other reports now have it that, lately, she’s been cutting sessions. As if this wasn’t enough, sources are also telling the media that organizers are really worried the star’s no-shows could affect the tour altogether.

One spy, reportedly close to Spears or, at least, to her management team, has spoken to American magazine Us Weekly, spilling the beans on how Britney is putting her entire career and grand comeback at risk by missing rehearsals. The reason is not what we might think, since she did manage to get her life back on track, the spy also says, therefore incidents like those of one or two years ago are completely out of the question.

“She missed some early dance practices and wasn’t dedicated about turning up at meetings.” the magazine writes, citing the unnamed but allegedly reliable source. “She didn’t want him to see that she’s not as good as she used to be,” it is further said, with the mention that the “him” in question is choreographer Wade Robson, with whom Britney has been working since 1999 and of whom she is now ashamed he’d notice she was not as good as in the heyday of her fame.

The tour for which Britney Spears is preparing, more or less, is said to kick off sometime in March and to support the star’s latest album, “Circus.” Although no specifics of said tour have yet been made public, Britney’s frequent visits to the studio to presumably rehearse, as well as to people in the music industry have led many entertainment-focused media outlets to think that she was gearing up for a worldwide tour, her first in five years.

If this rumor does check out, then this could be a complete disappointment for the fans of the starlet, since she’s always been considered more an “entertainer” than a genuine “singer.” The reason for that was to be found, of course, in the fact that she could put on incredible shows, incendiary performances that somehow compensated for her inability to stop lip-synching.
