To stop biting her nails and worrying so much

It’s always the little things that matter, they say, and Britney Spears’ case is certainly no exception to that rule. After a grueling year that took its toll on Britney’s psyche, as well as on her public image, but that seems to be about to end on a positive note, the once dubbed Princess of Pop says her New Year resolution is something small: to stop biting her fingernails, a habit that she can’t break.

Speaking with the ever-present around her paparazzi, Britney revealed that she was not making any huge plans for 2009, choosing instead to start small and work her way up. One thing, though, she could definitely do without would be not to worry as much as she does now. “I would like to stop worrying so much, because I worry all the time. And to learn how to be happier, just in general. I have to learn to take things not so seriously.” the singer told the paps, adding that biting her nails was also connected with the worrying part.

However, regardless of her attention and care for her manicure, Spears is almost certain that she won’t be able to stick to this resolution, just like she also failed in the past. “I end up breaking them. It's hard.” she said, explaining how she always seems to become bored with the resolutions she makes, be them important or not. All hope is not lost, though, Britney believes because, at the very least, she is willing to give it a try.

Ranked by the Recording Industry Association of America as the eight best-selling female artist in the US (with 31 million certified albums), Britney released her sixth studio album in November 2008, “Circus,” going straight to number one in several charts across the country and worldwide.

The success of the album came after two years in which the singer held most headlines with her erratic behavior and chaotic life, including a few rehab stints, public meltdowns and a highly mediated custody battle, which she lost.
