Eighth edition of the segment is just as funny as always

A while back, Jimmy Kimmel introduced a new segment to his audience, in which he had some of the biggest names in showbiz read out loud some of the meanest tweets written about them. The cameras were on hand to capture their reactions, which ranged from hurt and stunned to hilarious and outraged.

Well, Celebrities Read Mean Tweets is now at its eighth edition and it’s still as funny as always, despite some criticism earlier on about how the tweets were posted by Kimmel’s own camp, that the accounts either didn’t exist or were set up specifically to post just one message that would then be read on the show.

For this edition, Kimmel got together big names, as he’s done before too. We have Oscar-winner actress Gwyneth Paltrow (mocked online as “Dame Goop”), pop superstar Britney Spears, former “Friends” alum Lisa Kudrow, Gerard Butler, John Stamos, Ty Burrell, Lena Dunham, Chloe Grace-Moretz, Geena Davis, Chris Pratt, and Scott Foley.

The entire segment is available below. Kudrow, who played the adorable and air-headed Phoebe on the hit series, has the best reaction possible to her tweet, bursting out in laughter and not being able to stop. In all fairness, she did have a very dumb tweet to read, which wished everyone a “great weekend! Except you, Lisa Kudrow. [Expletive] you.”

Butler and Moretz took their time to respond to their tweeters, though I doubt it was the answer they were hoping for. Paltrow seemed genuinely upset, while Spears was amused and couldn’t stop grinning. Stamos tried to shut his hater, but ended up agreeing with him or her.

Enjoy!
