14 DAY TRIAL // The second season of X Factor US wrapped and speculation is already making the rounds on whether Britney Spears will resume her position as judge for another season. She won’t, says a new report.
The pop star was reportedly paid $15 million (€11.3 million) for just one season but, when boss Simon Cowell drew the line, it was a very poor investment, Us Weekly writes, citing an unnamed source.
“Britney will get the boot. Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn't working. They paid all that for her to say ‘amazing’ and offer half-claps,” says a source.
Another suggests Cowell only approached Britney because he was expecting her to bring lots of drama to the table, which she failed to do.
“He wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney,” says the second tipster.
For the time being, no announcement has been made, either about Britney’s return or her departure from the show.
