14 DAY TRIAL // They were very coy about their relationship at first, but Britney Spears and Jason Trawick are certainly not so anymore. In the popstar’s latest video, “Criminal,” they play runaway lovers – a modern Bonnie and Clyde.
The video opens with scenes of a very elegant Britney at an uptight party. Her man (Freddy Bradshaw) is definitely a scumbag who doesn’t shy away from throwing a few punches to make himself understood.
It’s precisely during one such domestic abuse episode that Trawick steps in: the knight in shining armor and black leather jacket, he beats up the boyfriend and carries Britney away on his white horse / bike.
This is where the actual song kicks it, with the video following close to the lyrics, as it shows Britney falling for the criminal and afterwards, becoming one herself.
She’s brandishing guns and holding up convenience stores, she’s defying armed forces and eventually escapes from them – all of this by her man’s side.
