14 DAY TRIAL // Britney Spears hasn’t looked happier in months and many fans believe it has a lot to do with the new man in her life, legal assistant David Lucado, whom she’s been seeing since sometime in February. However, a new report suggests that the relationship started out as an arranged one.
Radar Online claims to have it on very good authority that David only entered into Britney’s life when her dad and conservator, Jamie Spears, approached him to get him to befriend her, so as to help her cope with being single again.
Britney and Jason Trawick had just broken up (they were engaged to be married), so Jamie did not want his daughter alone through this, the e-zine writes.
He ran a thorough background check on Lucado and then got him to sign a confidentiality agreement, after which he introduced him to his daughter.
“Jamie has known David for a while, and always thought he was a thoughtful, and an all-around good guy. Britney needed someone to keep her company after she and Jason (Trawick) broke up,” says an insider.
The idea wasn’t to throw Britney into the arms of another man, but just to make sure that she befriended someone they could trust wouldn’t run to the press with all kinds of sordid details, as it happened before.
“It had to be a male, because Britney just doesn’t respond as well to females. And remember, she is still under a conservatorship,” the insider says.
“Before David started spending time with Brit, he had to undergo a background check, and sign a confidentiality agreement, all arranged by Papa Spears. Jamie makes sure if things go south between Jamie and Britney, details about her life wouldn’t be made public,” adds the spy.
“David had absolutely no problem with it, and completely understood why it was being done,” says the source.
He and Britney became more than friends after a while.
Radar writes that Jamie did not intend to “arrange” who Britney should date, but voices online are saying that this is precisely what happened.
